Drawing the Line on Workplace Sexual Harassment

Presenters: Nicole Pietsch, B.A., Coordinator, Ontario Coalition of Rape Crisis Centres and Julie Lalonde, M.A., Project Manager Draw-the-line.ca Campaign.
This Video was presented and recorded on September 24, 2015.

Almost half of all women will say they have experienced sexual harassment at work or in other public spaces. Comments from “You’d look good on me” to groping, flashing, and assault are a daily reality for women and LGBTQ individuals, but street (and other forms of) harassment is rarely reported, and culturally accepted as ‘the price you pay’ for being a woman or for being gay[1].  When we look away or don’t know what to do, we quietly support a threatening workplace.

Note: This Video discussed workplace-situated sexual harassment, however skill-building and information may also be applicable to addressing situations of school-based or street harassment.
